Emergency Services
With an on site fire department, trained EMTs respond to emergencies 24/7, 365 days a year. Radio or phone dispatch from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department notifies emergency services.

SECURITY | The North Texas Regional Airport Fire Department patrols the airport at night. Access to the Airport is controlled by eight security gates. Additional security provided by high-powered security lights that illuminate the aircraft parking ramp.

FIRE | The NTRA’s fire fighting unit includes
a Fire Chief and five firefighters. Able to respond within three minutes of notification, the airport fire department is structural and ARFF (CFR) certified. Typically there are two firefighters on duty, supported by one or two civilian volunteers. They serve the airport, as well as nearby areas, in addition to providing administrative assistance to the Airport Director. The unit is supplemented by Sherman, Denison and Pottsboro fire departments. Sherman and Denison fire departments meet NFPA requirements.

POLICE PROTECTION | Police protection
is provided by the Grayson County Sheriff’s
Department and the Grayson County College
Police Department. The NTRA Fire Department patrols the airport property at night.

AMBULANCE SERVICE | The Sherman
and Denison fire departments supply advanced cardiac life support, operating ambulance services from each city’s fire department. Several volunteer ambulance services are also available.

RESCUE-CHAIN | The NTRA firefighters
are first responders, offering basic life support. Sherman and Denison ambulance services provide advanced care and transport to the nearest appropriate hospital. If a higher level of care is needed, ground or air ambulance transport the patient to a Dallas area hospital.
