I’m Bruce Dawsey, and it’s an honor to serve as your Grayson County Judge.
A little about my background — I spent four and a half years in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman, and after that, I dedicated 31 years to a career in law enforcement. I served seven years with the Houston Police Department and then 24 years with the Sherman Police Department, where I retired in 2022 as an Assistant Chief.
Public service has always been close to my heart. Over the years, I’ve also had the privilege of serving nine years on the Howe ISD School Board and one term on the Van Alstyne City Council. In January of 2023, I was sworn in as Grayson County Judge — a responsibility I’m proud to carry every day.
On a personal note, I’m originally from South Louisiana, but I’ve called Grayson County home since 1998. My wife, Jackie, and I have been married for 32 years, and we’ve raised two wonderful children. Our daughter, Emily, is a high school English teacher, and our son, Justin, recently earned his master’s degree from Texas Tech University.
I’m grateful to be here today and to continue working alongside all of you to make Grayson County an even better place to live, work, and raise a family.
