The Office of Emergency Management coordinates the training and activities of the Grayson County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). CERT training is a free local program based on FEMA approved curriculum. The training educates citizens about the hazards they face in their community and safe ways to respond. It is open to anyone 18 years or older residing in Grayson County. There is no commitment beyond the first class; we encourage residents to come for the first class of 2026 to see what the program entails. All materials are provided by Grayson County at no cost to participants. We will be hosting the 2026 CERT Training classes on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:00pm-8:30pm starting in January and concluding in September with a final exercise (Date TBD).
The first class will be held on January 6, 2026, at the Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning, located at 6101 Grayson Drive, Denison, TX 75020.
Every other Tuesday class from February through September will be held from 6:00pm-8:30pm at the Grayson County Courthouse, 2nd floor Assembly Room 100 W. Houston Street, Sherman, Texas.
Participants must attend all classes and the final exercise in order to graduate. We will also be posting this information on our social media pages. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 903-813-5240.
